Adaro Land
Adaro Land
Companies within the Adaro Land segment are led by PT Adaro Persada Mandiri (APM) as the parent company and are operated to support the Adaro Group's supply chain by providing four types of services:
- Asset and land management – including land document storage, land information systems, project management consulting for construction and renovation of buildings and bridges, as well as management of operational support facilities.
- Agribusiness and biomass products – including cattle farming operations, organic fertilizer production, nurseries, woodchip biomass, and oil palm plantations.
- Forestry projects – including revegetation or planting and plant maintenance in reclamation areas, and watershed (DAS) rehabilitation.
- Forestry asset management – including management of forestry assets for ecosystem restoration as well as carbon sequestration and trading.
PT Adaro Persada Mandiri (APM)
In addition to serving as the parent company for the Adaro Group's land segment, APM also handles the centralized asset and infrastructure management of the Group by providing land management services, infrastructure development, and leasing as well as asset management services. These centralized operations are vital for the Adaro Group's mining business supply chain to ensure effective property management with a high level of efficiency. Land management services include land document archive storage and management services as well as land information system services for Adaro Group companies, while asset management services include asset procurement (land, buildings, furniture, as well as operational support facilities) and operational facility management.
Some of the business activities carried out by APM are as follows:
- Document archive storage and information system services: spatial data management and map visualization integrated with land documents stored in a specialized archive room to ensure document security and quality.
- Procurement and leasing services for operational support facilities: office containers for PT Adaro Indonesia and PT Adaro Wamco Prima (AWP).
- Project management consulting services: renovation of employee messes for PT Adaro Logistics (AL) and the office of PT Sarana Multi Talenta (SMT) in Banjarmasin.
PT Rehabilitasi Lingkungan Indonesia (RLI)
RLI is a subsidiary of APM that handles revegetation in reclamation lands and project management supervisory and implementation services for watershed (DAS) rehabilitation. Thus, RLI plays a role in integrating post-mining activities (implementation, monitoring, and supervision) to meet reclamation obligations in accordance with land handover requirements and reclamation success assessments. Watershed rehabilitation activities and reclamation land revegetation are obligations of mining companies, both as holders of Forest Area Utilization Permits (IPPKH) and as post-mining obligations.
In 2024, RLI worked on several revegetation projects for PT Adaro Indonesia (AI) consisting of planting an area with a total size of 322 Ha and maintaining an area with a total size of 1,584.8 Ha.
For AI, RLI also handled the planting of critical lands in watershed areas and the handover of areas to the Watershed Management Agency (BPDAS). The area handovers carried out throughout 2024 covered 386.89 Ha.
PT Agri Multi Lestari (AML)
AML is a subsidiary of APM engaged in agribusiness and biomass supply, operating to conduct revegetation activities in reclamation lands as well as forest management to ensure the quality and quantity of materials and operational cost efficiency. In the agribusiness sector, AML produces solid and liquid organic fertilizers generated from cattle farming as well as plant seedlings produced from a modern nursery center. In 2024, AML produced 1,364 tonnes of solid organic fertilizer supplied to AI and two other APM subsidiaries, namely PT Alam Sukses Lestari (ASL) and PT Hutan Amanah Lestari (HAL). Liquid fertilizer production volume reached 56,599 liters and was used for revegetation and forage grass planting.
In the biomass supply sector, AML produces woodchips that will be used to support co-firing activities at the power plant owned by PT Makmur Sejahtera Wisesa (MSW) and revegetation activities owned by RLI (as one of the supporting materials).
In addition to operating in the agribusiness and biomass supply sectors, AML also performs land securing in non-operational areas of the Balangan Group, particularly rubber plantation conversion activities. This is one of the key activities for woodchip production to support MSW power plant co-firing activities. This effort undertaken by AML serves as part of its involvement in the Adaro Group's NZE initiatives.
PT Alam Sukses Lestari (ASL)
ASL is a subsidiary of APM that manages forestry assets and holds a Forest Utilization Business Permit (PBPH) for an area of 19,520 Ha in East Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan. This permit gives the company the responsibility to manage the forest through ecosystem restoration activities within it. Therefore, ASL manages forests and secures land in mining areas as well as serving as an offsetter for emissions generated by mining activities.
Regarding forest management and ecosystem restoration, ASL has submitted a 10-year Forest Utilization Work Plan (RKUPH) for the period (2017 - 2026) and it has been approved by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). In realizing the RKUPH, ASL engages in carbon trading and the utilization of Non-Timber Forest Products (HHBK).
To support the utilization of environmental services toward carbon trading, ASL has drafted a Mitigation Action Plan Document (DRAM) to subsequently proceed with the validation and verification processes in obtaining a Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Certificate (SPE-GRK), which can later be traded through the Indonesian carbon exchange.
PT Hutan Amanah Lestari (HAL)
HAL is a subsidiary of APM that holds a Forest Utilization Business Permit (PBPH) for an area of 25,800 Ha in East Barito Regency and South Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan. Most of HAL's territory consists of peatland. As such, HAL can serve as a carbon emission sink to offset the carbon emissions generated by mining activities. This permit gives HAL responsibility for forest management to sequester and store carbon.
In 2024, HAL collaborated with ASL to safeguard concession areas through land securing and forest and land fire (karhutla) prevention, biodiversity management and protection services, and social governance. HAL is still continuing studies related to the utilization of environmental services in the form of carbon trading to obtain a Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Certificate (SPE-GRK) which can be traded through the Indonesian carbon exchange in the future.
